Concealing The Truth

One of my greatest organic make-up frustrations is the lack of variety of shades in concealers and often find myself having to plump for a non-organic product when I need to use certain colours. This sounds silly I know, but as a Make-up Artist I work on a whole range of clients and it is vital that I can cover every blemish and imperfection when necessary, regardless of the skin tone of the individual.

One of the more versatile brands when it comes to banishing those blemishes is Organic Glam. The Organic Glam concealers are available in two cute mini palettes, Light and Medium; each containing three shades and an under-eye highlighting cream.

Smooth and easy to apply (although when you first open a new palette you do need to work the product a little to get it going), they can either be applied with a brush or a finger and then followed by a light dusting of loose powder in order to set them. The concealers feel velvety soft and deeply moisturising on the skin and don't sit heavily on the skin.

The concealers are infused with tea tree and lavender to provide antiseptic properties and green tea, lemon and grape in addition to vitamins A, C and E to nourish and protect the skin. The highlighter contains light reflecting particles to create a luminous look and antioxidants green tea, lemon, eyebright and arnica to reduce puffiness.

When I am applying make-ups, it is important to me that I can mix and match colours and tailor them to the skin I am working on. Consequently, my only criticism of the Organic Glam concealers is that there is not a palette suitable for darker skin tones, although I am sure over time this will be rectified (I hope!).

The Organic Glam Mini Concealers are priced at £25.96 for a 4g palette.

  1. Hi Laura, I was just wondering how long a small palette like this might last for (light use daily) and whether it comes with instructions on how to apply it? I'm used to using a simply Lavera paste-like concealer, so am a bit baffled by all the different shades this provides! Thanks :)

  2. Hi. The palette will last a pretty long time - you don't need to use much. It would be applied with a concealer brush ideally, although a delicate finger/cotton bud would do the trick too. To be honest it's just a case of blending the colours on the back of your hand until you match your skin tone for the area you are applying it. It sounds complicated but it's easy once you get the hang of it i promise. I hope this helps :)
